Taupo Trip

We had a couple of nights away in Taupo at a holiday home belonging to friends. We picked a lovely cold time to go as you can see by J's photos of the mountains across the lake from Taupo. The other ones were taken either on the way up to the Chateau or up at the top. I went to keep the others company. Many of you will know that I like to look at snow from afar but really hate being in it. Dirty wet stuff. Looks better from afar in my books and any money spent on trying to get out on it is wasted from my perspective. I know that is the opposite of most people in the world and that I am odd but there you are. Anyway, J took a photo which she says epitomises my attitude to it. It is the one of me in the car. You can also see that I was far from dressed for time out on the snow throwing snowballs. I was warm and cosy in my coat. However, P pleased me immensely by taking us back to the Hotel Chateau and buying us coffees as we sat in the magnificent lounge. Now THAT with scones was worth the trip!! We sat there with the magnifient view and the fire crackling in the background for quite a while.
Was a great time.
