7 weeks: how our world has altered so drastically in these short weeks. Christchurch has been upended. Japan has been devastated. Lives have been lost or destroyed. Homes have been swept away by a power which makes human beings seem so insignificant and powerless.Minds are considering matters they have forgotten to think about. Questions are being asked which have laid dormant for too long. There is an awakening here. God is on the move in this place.
Despite the despair and seeming hopelessness, there is a humanity arising which has not been seen for years. Community spirit; giving selflessly; looking after our neighbours; a country coming together in one spirit; a world arising to send aid to help fellow human beings; humour in the midst of trying times; rich and poor pulling together. Surely God is using the turmoil to stir up his people and to turn the hearts of many towrds Him.
My own eyes are seeing with renewed brightness.
