Well - after a search around all of the neighbourhood, much calling, torches out in the night, notices put into letterboxes, notices at the vets, etc., J located Portia under a mass of bushes below the wall at the bottom of our section. She ( Portia) did not answer her calls and remained listless, so the intrepid adventurer, J, jumped to her peril to the garden below, hoisted the cat up ( head/ shoulder height above) tried to clamber alone up the wooden wall, and eventually managed to get both herself and cat over our fence!!
Cat: not well. Is now at the vet and dehydrated - who knows what the problem has been but we will have a hefty vet bill ( good thing P did not buy those expensive sandals when away!) and will retrieve her tomorrow all going well!
P.S. After about a week of TLC Portia has bounced back to full health............
