First experience in the caravan!

Well! We packed in a jiffy, with great joy...at about 10.30 Saturday morning - simply threw in a minimal amount of clothing, a minimal amount of food, a stretcher and extra duvet for J ( who travelled down after work) and within an hour we were OFF!!! None of the angst about packing for a tent existence. Oh joy!

The little treasure towed fabulously behind us and we trundled down to the Top 10 camping ground at Ohope, taking pot luck that there would be a good camp site for us. 'Something secluded,' we said. 'Something with a view,' we said. 'Is this a possibility?'
'Certainly!' they answered and ushered us to Coronation St ( REALLY!!) where we had a prime site.
Ah! Bliss, as we angled the caravan into position in a split second, opened the caravan up, put the power on, heated up some water in a kettle ( such a LUXURY!) , set the table out with stuff for lunch and were sitting eating within 10 minutes. Tenting used to take us an hour or more to get set up before we could eat.
We 'ooohed' and 'ahhhed' about the difference between the two experiences and decided that this was the life for us. It was the recurring conversation for the two days. We read books, went for walks, swam, lay around and generally relaxed.
Yes, the tent is moving aside - we are true "Wind in the Willows' company for Toad as we move onto the next enthusiastic phase of life. It is the hour of the caravan.
Was lovely to have G. call in briefly to tell us about her experiences in their caravan.
A great weekend. LIttle time to remove gear when home also. Just the washing to do. SOoooooooo much easier for busy people. Yay!!
