J's report on day 1

Had our first day building today. Great, but soooooo hot and humid it is crazy. Thankfully we are constantly being supplied with bottled water though because you have to drink so much if you don't want to collapse in the heat. We were laying bricks for the walls today - there are probably just over 15 people working on each house. Some of the skilled Cambodian workers don't speak any English which can make simple things like trying to figure out whether they want you to pass the level or a brick or something quite tricky! It is very hot and dirty work, but the atmosphere of heaps of people all there building together is great.
